Alberta, Canada is quickly becoming a province to follow. With Medicine Hat being the first city to eliminate homelessness in Canada. Now Banff is
looking to do a first for Canada by 2050. The world COP is in France to “limit global warning below 2C,” (McGrath, 2015). Well “the town Banff
is also looking at ways it can run exclusively on renewable power. It’s considering setting a goal of using 100 percent renewable energy sources
by 2050,” (CBC News, 2015).

In an era where much of the major cities in Canada, are fighting just to reduce their emissions, it is refreshing to see that this one town is “trying
to protect the environment first and foremost, that’s why this, park was established,” (Barkley, CBC News, 2015). The municipal building in Banff
is powered already by panels, and due to an incentive program, solar power switch has been made to more than a dozen home, (2015).

We are at a time in Canada where serious change needs to be considered in regards to climate change, “and so to recognize the seriousness of climate
change I think Banff would be well placed to be on the forefront of this,” (Barkley, CBC News, 2015). Bow Tie Kreative is very interested in the
future of this initiative and the direct impact it will have on other towns and cities that will follow suit as well as the impact on the environment.
